What is the sadly unsurprising element to this case? It’s a white cop, pinning a black man to the floor, pressing his knee to the man’s neck. The police force themselves said there is an investigation regarding a man’s ‘medical distress’ – oh really? I wonder why that is…
Once again there is the situation where a black person has died because of police actions. Once again, questions must be asked about this systemic racism within the US police forces. Is there ever a need for that kind of application of force? Surely common sense should kick in and tell you that applying pressure to a man’s airway can have deadly consequences?
Will anything change? Well, let’s spread this far and wide, get attention to this latest act of brutality. Make it something the police cannot evade and hide from.

Do you have even the slightest bit of common sense? There is no reason to believe that cop would have done that to a white person. Nor does calling out police violence against POC make someone ‘anti-cop’. It does mean that when little or no action gets taken in these circumstances (the cop who committed this murder has not even been charged), people get angry. I don’t condone rioting, but I can understand it. A bunch of white people stormed government buildings, armed to the teeth, and got right into the faces of police to rant and rave. No incidents. A black person goes jogging and gets confronted and killed, and it takes weeks before anything meaningful happens.

reason it actually took months was the accused had ties to the DA office and police so impartial investigation was not really possible. That man was confronted for trespassing on a construction property . Came out the cops told the property owner to contact the 2 men who shot the jogger about the break ins / trespassing. Also he got shot while trying to wrestle the shotgun away from one of the men . now nobody is in the right here. Its again fucked up but play shitty games like trespassing then trying to wrestle a shotgun away from someone you might get shot and die. I know you think no person here in America should be allowed to own or carry a gun for personal protection but hey our laws are more liberty loving than the UK bullshit

Here’s a thought. The two vigilantes would never have acted if that jogger had been white. If they *had* acted, an investigation would have happened quicker. If they hadn’t have gotten into their truck to drive after him, he would not have died. So it’s not his fault, it’s the fault of a pair of idiot racists.
